Polyphonic Singing with "CHAONIA" - TRIETHNÉS International Music Festival

Open to all ages and levels of experience, whether you are a beginner wishing to encounter this unique musical tradition for the first time or an experienced singer seeking to deepen your understanding of its technique, aesthetics, and cultural meaning, the workshop offers a rare opportunity for meaningful engagement with a living oral tradition.

Through practical exercises, collective singing, and the study of traditional roles such as pasa, isokratima, klosimo, and girismata, participants will explore the distinctive character of polyphony, its collective nature, and its strong emotional impact. The workshop also places emphasis on cultural context, highlighting the role of polyphonic singing as a vehicle of community expression, historical memory, and identity.
