DESCRIPTION
One of the most internationally significant pianists of the new generation, Anton Gerzenberg (First Prize, Géza Anda Competition 2022), with a wide-ranging engagement in contemporary music, performs works by Iannis Xenakis, Claude Debussy, Salvatore Sciarrino, Pierre Boulez, and Maurice Ravel.
His piano is placed at the center of the old stone quarry in Mikrolimni, Mikri Prespa, a site known for its remarkable natural acoustics. Gradually, the polyphonic ensemble CHAONIA joins Anton’s sound, performing polyphonic songs from Epirus and the wider Balkan region.
The recital evolves into a multi-focused experience, rich in echoes, unexpected combinations, and a clear intention toward artistic, personal, and collective transcendence.
Anton Gerzenberg’s participation is supported by the Austrian Embassy in Athens.
